About the role
Under the direction of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Lead will be responsible for accomplishing food safety hygiene and sanitation standards (Inside plant and exterior grounds). Will lead the daily execution of the MSS program with the Sanitation technicians by supporting and actively participating in the execution of MSS within the factory and all employee service areas. Sanitation Lead ensures a strong commitment to food and employee safety.
Key responsibilities
Support the Sanitation Supervisor by identifying any training needs for sanitation personnel. Validate and document any training. Update and generate, if applicable, Sanitation Standards Operations Procedures Verify and validate functions according with the work schedule Control the Inventory of Sanitation Chemicals, PPE’s and GMP Stations Disposal of Recycling and other materials Monitoring glass, sharps and brittle policy Support in QMS, BRC and customer audits and implement any improvement found Follow up and document any CAR, FSIR found in its department Participate in Shift turn over meetings Assist with new employee orientation and training Committed to providing a safe food product. Works within all regulatory requirements. Ability to adhere to GMP practices and all other food safety and food defense requirements. Be available to fill in for supervisor as needed and follow Company required Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices Other duties as assigned. Meets/ exceeds requirements for food safety and employee safety.
About you
High School Diploma or GED. Post-secondary education is an asset. Special knowledge expertise with GMP’S HACCP, Quality Systems, Standard Operating Procedures, Must be able to work in all areas of the factory as well as office environment and laboratory. Some exposure in a high noise environment, occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds. Overtime may be required. Computer Skills (Proficient use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP), Works well in a team as well as independently Follows work schedule, knowing what steps or sequence of steps are needed to complete the work. Must use judgment in determining that standards of sanitation, timeliness, and courtesy, etc. are met. Constant standing and walking are required as well as lifting or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. May occasionally work or lift objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance of other workers. Computer competency (SAP, Microsoft Office, Google). Exposure to and experience with ISO, GFSI (BRC/SQF) is highly desirable.
Other:
Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Detail & results oriented. This role involves extensive walking throughout the plant and plant grounds, climbing stairs/ladders, squatting, etc. to complete sanitation inspections. This role requires the ability to work after hours, varying start times and weekends dependent on business needs; facility operates on a 24/7 schedule. May be required to lift up to 50lbs occasionally. Ability to work in and be exposed to heat. Protective equipment will be required where appropriate.
