Marzetti, and we reserve the right to contact those candidates without any obligation to pay a fee. **This role is 3rd shift. 9pm-6am The Sanitation Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is a member of the Plant Leadership Team. This role is responsible for leading the sanitation program within the facility, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, company standards, and GMPs by managing a team of sanitation workers, developing and maintaining cleaning procedures, scheduling and ensuring completion of sanitation tasks, inspecting for cleanliness, and addressing any sanitation issues that may arise, all while prioritizing employee safety and maintaining proper documentation of cleaning activities. Responsibilities Team Leadership: · Hiring, training, and developing sanitation team members · Assigning cleaning tasks and monitoring performance · Conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback Sanitation Program Development and Implementation: · Developing, implementing and maintaining Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) for sanitation practices · Utilizing risk-based assessments to design cleaning schedules based on production needs and regulatory requirements · Assessing and implementing sanitation procedures for all areas of the facility, including equipment, production lines, exterior and peripheral areas of the facility. · Monitoring and updating cleaning protocols to ensure effectiveness · Investigating and resourcing improved cleaning process for more efficient and effective sanitation practices. Compliance and Quality Assurance: · Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), preventive controls (e.g. Sanitation controls and allergen control programs). · Ensuring adherence to all local, state, and federal food safety regulations · Conducting regular sanitation audits and inspections to verify the effectiveness of sanitation procedures and address any deficiencies. · Identifying and addressing sanitation concerns proactively · Maintaining sanitation records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements · Tracking and trending of OOS and non-compliance for timely corrective and preventative actions. Chemical Management: · Ensuring the appropriate cleaning chemicals are used based on sanitation needs including soils, surfaces and environment. · Managing chemical inventory and ensuring proper storage and usage · Monitoring chemical concentrations and compliance with safety guidelines Communication and Collaboration: · Collaborating with production teams to coordinate sanitation activities with production schedules · Communicating sanitation concerns and updates to relevant team members o Reporting sanitation concerns and opportunities to management and proposing corrective actions Qualifications · Minimum High School diploma or GED plus 7 years of experience OR 2- or 4-year advanced degree in a science or related field plus 3-5 years of experience. B. S. in Food Science or related field preferred. · Prior experience in a sanitation role within a food manufacturing or processing facility. · Demonstrated strong understanding of food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMPs), and sanitation procedures. · Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and develop and motivate team members. · Knowledge of sanitation programs, cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment, and cleaning procedures. · Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to thoroughly inspect and document cleaning activities. · Identify and resolve sanitation issues effectively and collaboratively, takes proactive measures to avoid future issues. · Strong computer skills especially Microsoft Office and previous experience with electronic documentation systems.
