SUMMARY 

M-F 10pm-730am
Under the general supervision of the QA Manager, coordinates the activities of the plant sanitation and food safety programs.  Maintains sanitation and Food Safety procedures, policies, and training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned due to business needs or special circumstances which may require reassignment to other departments or other job duties.

Provide appropriate leadership to ensure compliance to the American Institute of Baking (AIB) Food Safety Standards, other auditing organizations, as well as FDA, and/or other state and local Food Safety regulatory agencies. 

Manages the facility's custodial and waste removal service.

Leads and manages the Food Safety Committee.  Assures the Food Safety Plan is implemented and documented.

Will/May be required to work some off shifts and weekends.

Responsible for the sanitation department's chemical usage and safety training.  Must maintain training and safety certifications as required by Krunchers! and/or by any state or other governmental body.

Orders cleaning supplies and chemicals as needed.

Maintains a cost-effective Sanitation budget.

Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.

If needed, directs food handlers and production personnel in sanitary procedures.

Directs cleaning of equipment, facilities, and in all work areas.

Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.

Confers with management and production personnel on sanitation problems and Food Safety; recommends changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.

Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.

Routes reports to QA Manager and designated plant personnel.

Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.

Works with production, maintenance, and other departments to assure that Krunchers! meets the appropriate sanitation and Food Safety requirements while assuring the most efficient workflow and the lowest cost.  

Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.

Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.

Works with and helps other supervisors to coordinate activities of all departments.

Trains, schedules, and monitors the activities of associates supervised. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

HS Diploma or GED required2+ years of sanitation experience1+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Associates or Bachelors Degree3+ years of sanitation leadership experience within food manufacturingFood Safety experience is preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between 

$47,600-$79,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
