Under the general supervision of the Sanitation Manager, the primary responsibility of the Sanitation Technician I is to clean and sanitize all processing equipment, floors, walls, pipes, trash receptacles, drains, grounds, etc. Responsibilities

Responsible to comply with all Quality and Foods Safety Management standards and/or systems to ensure continual improvement and effectiveness of the Food Safety Management Systems with the ability to satisfy our customers and provide products that are in accordance to their intended use and safe for human consumption.Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble equipment ensuring equipment care and integrityClean and sanitize equipment with the correct chemicals/cleaning agents and scrubbing materialsProperly and safely mix chemicals per label instructionsFrequently lift/move hoses, equipment, chemical containers throughout work shiftComply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements at all timesUtilize company resources in a safe and effective manner Abide by Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Work Rules, Safety Rules, and Attendance RulesImmediately report any accidentsImmediately report any malfunctions of processing equipmentImmediately report any safety hazardWork around moving equipment with cleaning chemicals with the plantRead and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Follow verbal and written directionsComplete required paperwork accuratelyAssist others in their areas as assignedPerform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions of the job, as assigned. Must be able to stand, walk, sit for 8+ hours/shiftMust be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.Must be able to bend/stoop/squat/twist/kneel and turn throughout workday, for varying lengths of timeMust be able to reach with hands and arms below shoulder level to above shoulder levelMust be able to work in a cold environment with an average temperature of 40 degrees FahrenheitMust be able to work on concrete work surfacesMust be able to climb stairs and laddersMust have dexterity to be able to hold a high-pressure hose (750-1000 psi) for long periods.Must be able to work with chemicalsMust be able to wear a respirator (if needed).
