Sanitation Utility 1 Position

Your Opportunity as a Utility 1 - Sanitation

As a part of the Utility - Sanitation team, you will be responsible for the cleanliness of both processing and non-processing equipment within the bakery and on the property. This could include but is not limited to windows, ceilings, restroom, breakroom, wash racks, cleaning equipment, lights, mixers, ovens, pans, etc. Your action in this role will ensure product safety. You must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be able to communicate and work effectively in a team structure and be flexible in work assignments within the utility category. You must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions, safely and accurately complete assigned duties and maintain GMP standards. You will also be a part of the Food Defense Team.

Location: Indianapolis, IN Manufacturing Plant

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site, 1st Shift 10am-8pm, 2nd Shift 6pm-4am or 8pm-6am; must be flexible 2 weekdays and all weekend

Compensation Base Rate: $20.32 plus an additional .25 shift differential

In this Role You Will:
• Clean floors, lights, walls, windows, ceilings, restrooms, break room, wash rack, equipment, e.g., mixer, oven, hand truck, in various areas of the plant.
• Spot paint various areas within the plant.
• Communicate with production staff regarding problems and cleaning frequency.
• Clean processing and non-processing equipment, e.g., coolers, oven, etc.
• Clean grounds, e.g., snow removal, weeds, tree trimming, police grounds, etc.
• Dismantle machinery
• Discard waste and/or trash.
• Resolve insect problems.
• May perform other duties not listed.

What We are Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
• Ability to work night shift.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
• Previous safety training preferred.
• Prior food industry experience a plus.
• Familiarity with bakery equipment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.

Tools and Equipment: All tools and equipment which are required to be used by the employees shall be supplied and kept in repair by the Employer at no cost to the employee. These items must be kept on the premises.

Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud.

Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May push and pull trash carts, dough carts, and portable equipment and catch pans weighing heavy amounts.
