Position Summary:
The ABAP Developer reports to the SAP Shared Services Manager and is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end solutions within the SAP ecosystem. This role involves analyzing and evaluating existing and proposed systems, as well as creating processes and procedures to address business challenges. The incumbent will leverage advanced technical knowledge to provide support and guidance to various stakeholders across all Hillenbrand organizations utilizing SAP.
This position serves as the primary liaison between IT and internal and external customers at all levels to enhance SAP functionalities. The SAP ABAP Developer will implement and influence strategic objectives and create a long-term SAP development roadmap based on these objectives, which includes modeling and analyzing business flows and reengineering SAP applications.
Work You’ll Do:
Develop and enhance ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, and forms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Create, recommend, and implement software solutions and objectives related to SAP systems.
Perform configuration and customization work to support new and existing functionalities, assisting outside consultants as needed.
Document and maintain all development processes, procedures, and technical specifications.
Experienced in SAP Core ABAP RICEFW developments.
Experience in SPDD/SPAU Activities
Experienced in OData services and CDS Views
Identify potential solutions for SAP issues, log problems, follow up with SAP (or other help/support desks) on potential solutions, and test and implement fixes.
Assist in the implementation and testing of new releases, upgrades, or patches of SAP (or related systems).
Ensure appropriate user security and authorization levels exist in the development area, coordinating and testing any required authorization changes.
Participate in and lead initiatives related to SAP application development and software implementations.
Maintain confidentiality regarding business-critical data, including company-wide performance, activities, direction, and other sensitive information.
Ensure compliance with ISO and SOX guidelines.
Experience with S4 HANA or FIORI application enablement is preferred.
Integrate SAP applications with external systems and platforms as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of Experience in SAP ABAP
Proven experience as an ABAP Developer with a strong understanding of SAP modules.
Proficiency in Core ABAP programming, including Object-Oriented ABAP.
Experience with SAP Fiori, SAP UI5, and Web Dynpro is a plus.
Familiarity with SAP HANA and CDS views is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
