SAP Analyst - Project Systems

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to immerse in the universe of SAP!  The SAP Project Systems Analyst is a key role for the Westinghouse SAP systems, and internal business partners.  Former experience with SAP PS module is required, preferably with understanding of cross-modular integrations.  The role requires strong technical aptitude, interpersonal communication, problem solving skills, and high motivation.  

Used globally by Westinghouse, SAP Project Systems is continually evolving to support various business functions. The SAP PS module manages projects throughout its entire lifecycle, enabling project planning, project execution, project accounting and resource planning.  As a project centric company, Westinghouse heavily uses this platform to govern a broad portfolio of work.

This role will be exposed to a variety of business processes, core business functions, and internal/external customers. Under the direction of the SAP Supervisor-Project Systems, the SAP PS Analyst will identify project risks, learn to evaluate business needs, identify best practices, and implement resilient solutions following a system development lifecycle (SDLC) using additional SAP products (ChaRM, Solution Manager) and HP Application Lifecycle Management/Quality Center.

 

This position will include (but is not limited to) the following standard operational tasks:
•    Research, test, and recommend settings/configurations meet the defined business need.
•    Adhere to a defined schedule for implementing changes in production .
•    Review standard processes daily to identify and repair issues as they occur.
•    Complete root cause analysis for repetitive issues to prevent future occurrences.
•    Follow a defined system development lifecycle (SDLC) to implement solutions using SAP ChaRM, Solution Manager and HP ALM.
•    Develop expertise with designated SAP area and its critical touchpoints (e.g., cross-modular integration points, interfaces, as well as external software packages).
•    Collaborate with Westinghouse business partners, SAP team members, general IT organization and other internal teams, as well as external partners to provide high quality deliverables and services.
•    Effectively collaborate with external consultants on designated projects and ongoing support-related tasks.
•    Provides timely support for internal customers.
•    Participate in team meetings, training, and planning cycles to foster an environment of continuous improvement.  
•    Improve/maintain documentation on standards and best practices within the designated SAP area.

 

 

Requirements: 
•    University Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent working experience.
•    Fluency in written and spoken English.
•    Minimum 3-5 years of experience in SAP PS and/or SD.
•    Working experience with one or more of the following SAP modules: SD, CO, PP, MM.
•    Working knowledge of SAP PS cross-modulars integrations, especially with one of the following: SD, PP, CATS/HR..
•    Working knowledge of ChaRM, Solution Manager and HP ALM.
•    Practical understanding of ITIL, AGILE, SCRUM.
•    Knowledge of revenue analysis, cost collection principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis is a plus.
•    Strong analytical skills.
•    High degree of motivation, flexibility and creativity.
•    Can perform well in a time-constrained environment.
