SAP Data Technician

Our client is seeking an SAP Plant Maintenance Data Technician to work within their facilities located in Lloydminster on a 1-year assignment.

Job Overview:

Supporting the Canadian Thermal and Conventional Heavy Oil business, the SAP Master Data Team is responsible for the accurate digital representation of facility, well, and equipment data in a Maintenance Management System (SAP). This position requires a technically minded individual who preferably has experience with data management, data governance, and data administration of Maintenance Management Systems such as SAP, Maximo, JD Edwards, or similar.

Job Responsibilities: Investigate and collaborate with internal and external teams to verify data and documents before accurately entering data into SAP in accordance with company standards. Identify issues, investigate, collaborate, and select appropriate solutions within a defined process. Ensure accuracy in assessing information and making decisions. Work primarily in an office environment, with no fieldwork required. Collaborate with multiple stakeholders, including operations, maintenance, engineering, finance, supply chain, and service teams. Perform data management activities within SAP Plant Maintenance, including verifying data accuracy, executing data changes, and performing data cleansing. Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, construction, and engineering teams to load equipment data into SAP. Comply with data standards, procedures, and best practices while seeking opportunities to improve efficiency. Work independently, making decisions based on standards and training while receiving guidance on complex issues. Interpret data reports, technical documents, engineered drawings, and other data sources to maintain high data quality. Influence stakeholders to uphold data quality standards when necessary. Coach and train colleagues or other SAP users as required. Deliverables: Receive and review asset data change requests from business stakeholders. Create SAP work tickets and assign them to the appropriate SAP Technician. Process work tickets to create/update SAP Function Location, Equipment, and Assembly master data. Complete assigned work tickets within priority and timeline requirements. Verify asset data accuracy through investigation, document review, conversations, and audits. Review documents such as technical drawings, calibration reports, assessment reports, and inspection reports. Coach and mentor team members to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development. Create and maintain work instructions specific to the position. Requirements: Strong attention to detail to identify errors and anomalies in large data sets. Critical thinking skills to investigate and determine appropriate actions based on available information. Willingness to learn new tasks and expand technical knowledge. Effective communication skills with both field and office personnel. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work streams. Education/Experience: High School Diploma required. Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office, including: Excel: Sorting, filtering, data transformation, pivot tables, graphs, and applying formulas to large data sets. Outlook: Email communication and calendar management. Word: Creating professional documents such as work instructions and procedures. Business/Technical Diploma or equivalent training is an asset. Experience with SAP PM, HR, FI, MM, BW is an asset. Oil and gas equipment knowledge is an asset.
