The Boeing Company is currently seeking a SAP S/4 Application Development Senior Manager to join the SAP S/4 Center of Excellence to manage the Application Development team in either Seattle, WA; Kent, WA; Tukwila, WA; St. Louis City, MO; Hazelwood, MO; Dallas, TX; Ridley Park, PA; or Arlington, VA.

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP technology leader who can lead day-to-day activities in software development lifecycle and oversee a team responsible for developing software across a diverse SAP S/4 landscape. In this role, you will lead the development of SAP RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, and Workflows), ensuring high-quality solutions and aligning with business needs. As the development leader, you will be tasked with driving development efforts in ABAP, PI/PO, BTP and Fiori technologies supporting evolving projects/programs. You should have a solid understanding of the varying technology landscape including SAP, .Net, Java, Cloud technologies, Databases and the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile. You should also have knowledge of the supply chain fulfillment domain to help in accelerated solution delivery.

The individual is expected to be an expert in global organization management with the ability to handle team members dispersed across multiple United States sites as well as other global locations. Strong business acumen and collaboration skills are paramount in a demanding and highly skilled work environment to collaborate and influence people and decisions from stakeholders to other IT divisions.

Position Responsibilities:

Manage and integrate employee and first-level manager activities across Information Technologies including infrastructure design and administration, application analysis and design, information management, architecture, computing security, computing project support and/or process analysis

Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives

Acquire resources for department activities, provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements

Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

Ensure optimal integration of SAP with other enterprise systems and technologies

Stay updated on the latest SAP advancements and recommend upgrades or innovations

Oversee the ABAP development team within the current S/4 environment and key projects

Lead the adoption of SAP S/4HANA and cloud migration strategies, implementing best practices in SAP architecture, including ABAP development, SAP UI5/Fiori

Manage and execute the transition to a clean core using ABAP cloud and the Business Technology Platform (BTP)

Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for SAP Development and Archiving in the existing SAP environments, planning the transition to S/4

Integrate AI technologies in SAP development and archiving to reduce costs and transition time to SAP S/4

Collaborate cross-functionally with BASIS, infrastructure, architecture, and functional leaders to achieve results

Build and lead offshore teams of developers and technologists to support SAP Center of Excellence (COE) initiatives

Develop and maintain development standards and establish KPIs to measure the design and code quality and track post-implementation performance

Document and manage SOPs for software and information platform systems

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree or higher

10+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

10+ years of experience within information technology

5+ years of experience with SAP architecture

5+ years of experience managing an Application Development team in a SAP environment

Able to travel both domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Certification in SAP Activate methodology and/or SAP BTP

10+ years of experience communicating effectively with multiple levels of an organization

10+ years of experience using Information Technology (IT) systems

5+ years of experience in SAP RICEFW development, with a strong understanding of ABAP programming, SAP architecture, and SAP modules

5+ years of experience in SAP RICEFW development, with at least 2 years of experience in a leadership role

5+ years of proficiency in ABAP, BADI, BAPI, IDOC, OData, Fiori, CDS Views, AMDP, and other relevant SAP technologies

5+ years of experience in the Digital Transformation Environment (DTE)

5+ years of experience mentoring, coaching, guiding, and leading teams

5+ years of experience with Information Technology Program or Project Management

Summary pay range: $151,300 - $218,500
