SATCOM Engineer Location Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD Job Setting Hybrid Job Category Engineer Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=SYSTEK&cws=42&rid=1071) SATCOM ENGINEER The SATCOM Engineer will provide SETA support to Tactical Networks at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD or Ft. Eisenhower, GA. RESPONSIBILITIES + Provide in-depth technical assessments and analysis of activities within and between programs. Support the design of system architectures, terminals, waveforms and access protocols. + Support analysis of system performance, throughput and response time, analysis of operational requirements and system loading. + Conduct systems engineering evaluations of satellite and terminal designs. + Participate in proposal and technical evaluations for satellite systems. + Support design reviews and perform evaluation of satellite and terminal contractor designs. Demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical issues into meaningful terms for others involved. + Effectively coordinate within and outside of PM TN, to include such organizations such as Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications - Tactical (PEO C3T), Army Capabilities Manager (ACM), Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA), industry vendors and other Army stakeholders (e.g. Army Strategic Command (ARSTRAT)). + Serve as subject matter experts in all aspects of transmission, to include modulation and coding, link budgets, radio frequency equipment, antennas, waveforms, blockage mitigation and other algorithms/protocols. Serve as Subject Matter Expert and brings knowledge of systems engineering methods and processes in order to perform SATCOM system analysis and evaluations for both commercial and military systems. + Demonstrate knowledge of Military Standards (MIL-STDs) and certification processes. Demonstrate familiarity of customer/vendor product development, business proposals, marketing interaction, product design and manufacturing processes.
