Description of Duties\:

The Satellite System Operations Lead supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will\:

 

·         Prepare monthly, or as needed, reports on system metrics, health, and mission status.

·         Operate system software and perform telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C) functionality of mission sensors.

·         Ensure timely documentation to operational changes and event support is accurate and archived when appropriate.

·         Execute promoted external tasking schedules and monitor all system statuses as required.

·         Be responsible for crew training and certifications with supporting training SOPs and maintain training records.

·         Lead meetings with internal and external customers to ensure accurate taskings, data downloads, and future system upgrades.

·         Lead internal and external communications exercises with MAJCOMs and inter-agency elements.

·         Report all system status to the Team Lead and provide technical recommendations for system anomalies to appropriate teams.

·         Support system installation upgrades and support testing events to identify appropriate dependencies, risks and impacts to the operational system.

·         Support occasional shift work, major testing events and occasional weekends and holidays.

·         Perform system checkouts after system upgrades and system maintenance windows.

·         Ensure all mission resources are available to support operations, training and maintenance activities.

·         Write and update all standard operation procedures (SOPs) as needed for operational configuration changes and system upgrades.

·         Verify execution of daily checklist and all schedule activities.

·         Assist IRES team with documentation support for contract deliverables and system upgrades.

·         Support planning functions in support of space operation meetings.

 

The successful candidate will\:

·         Be able to support mission testing of unique tool designs

·         Be excellent with technical communication (written and verbal)

·         Possess Linux experience or ability to learn basic Linux commands

·         Windows Desktop Experience

·         Satellite Operations Experience

·         Operations Floor Experience

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience\: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 14 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 10 years of general experience.

 

·         Must have at least 9 years of direct related experience in Satellite System Payload and Command and Control operations.

·         Must have 3 years of experience in management or leadership roles.

·         Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

·         Must have recent MDA experience

 

Desired Requirements\:

 

·         Have in-depth experience with government satellite and/or ground systems

·         Have experience creating or operating a Multi-Mission Satellite Operations Center

 

This position is expected to pay $123,000 - $148,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

 

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.
