OVERVIEW OF THE JOB


The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing compliance and stewardship matters related to Saudi legal entities. This includes reviewing financial statements, managing direct and indirect tax filings, conducting the tax forecast process, leading tax audits, collaborating with tax advisors, and supporting the business team on tax-related issues, business models, and stewardship matters.

YOUR TEAM
This role reports to the Middle East Tax Director and involves leadership in the Saudi Tax area.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Review direct and indirect tax filings, financial statements, and other statutory reports.

Lead the local tax forecast process, contributing to quarterly and year-end financial closures.

Manage the tax audit and refund processes.

Ensure that processes and controls are effective, while also finding opportunities for operational improvements.

Provide updates on new applicable tax laws and regulations.

SUCCESS CRITERIA

COMPLIANCE AND EXTERNAL REPORTING

Be responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance for Income Tax, WHT, VAT, and TP, including the review of computations, preparation, filing of tax returns, and management of tax payments. Strive for process improvement to ensure accuracy and timeliness in filings.

Manage the closure of open tax audits, including communication with tax authorities and tax advisors, and review reports prepared by the Service Center.

Supervise the VAT/WHT refund process, if applicable.

Stay informed about updates in tax legislation in Saudi Arabia and supervise legislative developments.

Prepare audited financial statements and other statutory reports.

Build and maintain relationships with external parties, such as financial auditors and tax advisors.

INTERNAL REPORTING

Prepare monthly income tax forecasts for all Saudi legal entities.

Generate monthly and quarterly reports for the Regional Comptroller and Tax team.

Supervise fiscal developments in the country and recommend improvements to local procedures to ensure compliance and optimize tax incentives.

Review the budget for tax advisors and financial auditors to maintain cost efficiency.

ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL REPORTING

Supervise the monthly reconciliation of P&L and balance sheet tax accounts, collaborating with the Service Center to maintain accurate accounting records.

Review calculations and provisions for quarterly tax entries to address tax liabilities and contingencies.

Ensure compliance with local regulations.

SUPPORT FOR BUSINESS TEAM AND LOCAL LEAD TEAM

Review business operating processes to assess local implications and revise as necessary to ensure compliance with business models and local regulations.

Provide support and mentorship to the business team as needed.

Participate in global and regional projects as required.

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

3-5 years of experience in a tax firm, focusing on tax compliance and audits across various tax types, including transfer pricing.

Familiarity with tax accounting, compliance, and relevant tax laws.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Leadership and interpersonal skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Attention to detail and capability to work with minimal direction.

Knowledge of SAP is advantageous.

Proficiency in Arabic.
