Miller Brother Staffing Solutions is seeking qualified candidates for a Saw Operator Team Member for a company in Erie, PA. This is a 2nd shift position with a starting salary of $40,200/year. Please see below for further details.
Saw Operator
Shift: 2nd shift: 2pm-10pm Monday through Friday, candidate will train on 1st shift, 6am-2pm Monday through Friday
Pay Rate: $40,200/year
Screening Process: face to face interview with the company. Candidate must also pass a drug screen, a nicotine test, and be open to a criminal background check.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring that all Saw Team functions are carried out as required, to include: review of work orders for processing instructions; receipt, inspection, and marking of incoming raw material; set up and operation of saws; identification marking of work in process; operation of cranes and forklifts; record keeping of work hours and inventory allotment to work orders. Perform other related work as requested, required, or directed by management.
Must have mechanical and technical ability to understand and operate machinery, make tooling changes, and read and interpret technical instructions. Must have sufficient math skills to perform required functions. Should display initiative and creative thought in planning and carrying out required work. Strong interpersonal skills are required to develop and maintain team atmosphere and effort. Knowledge of general computer skills.
Must have physical ability to walk, stand, carry, bend, reach, push, pull, hammer, and hold in order to set up most jobs and make required tooling changes. Considerable hand to eye and hand to hand coordination are required. Appreciable nervous effort required. Near vision (with correction, if necessary) must be adequate to perform required measurements. Must be able to function in a distractingly loud, oily, dirty, and hot environment. Must be able to lift 10 to 50 pounds frequently.
