Job Description
The Machine Operator is responsible for receiving raw materials, providing steel cut to specifications, and properly prepping, machining, and laying out components and parts according to blueprints. This role is crucial for setting up the Fabrication and Welding department.
ResponsibilitiesReceive, unload, and store raw materials.Use blueprints to determine necessary components for jobs.Mark cut steel correctly.Check material size and quality.Determine appropriate machines for drilling holes, deburring material, etc.Correctly mark and tag materials.Complete job paperwork, track job time, and deliver paperwork to the next department.Deliver cut steel to the next department.Essential SkillsSaw operationBlueprint readingCNC operation1-5+ years of manufacturing experienceSteel cutting and layout fabrication experienceAbility to read and interpret metric measurementsTechnical skills for understanding blueprints, schematic diagrams, and technical manualsDexterity and good hand-eye coordinationBasic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divisionAbility to analyze and resolve basic problemsCapability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with drill press, bandsaw, tape measure, machine operation, grinding, CNC, deburring, and machine shopAbility to frequently sit, stand, use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or equipment, and communicate effectivelyAbility to lift up to 50 poundsPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
