Role Summary:Gesa Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated sales developer to join our dynamic team. The SBA Relationship Associate reports to the SBA Sales Manager or SBA Lending Manager. The SBA Associate Lender position is an opportunity for a qualified team member who has expressed interest in becoming an SBA Relationship Manager at Gesa Credit Union to learn, develop skills and referral sources which should facilitate the transition to an independent SBA Relationship Manager after 18 months of performing the role as an SBA Associate Lender, if deemed ready and if the SBA Associate Lender desires to make the transition at that time. Successful candidates in the role must be a motivated self-starter who is passionate about small business and access to capital through SBA/USDA lending programs. In this role, you will call on business prospects and work with centers of influence to develop new business. Candidate will also learn to analyze financial data related to loan requests, including lines of credit, commercial real estate, working capital, equipment financing, and most commonly, business acquisitions. Quarterly incentives for this position are paid under the specific guidelines of the assigned plan approved for the applicable period.
What You Will Be Doing: Responsible for the annual production of $4 million or more in self-produced government guaranteed SBA/USDA loans. Makes a substantial number of outside, in-person calls on prospects and clients requiring extensive automobile travel through assigned territory. Be a resource to incoming leads provided through the credit union with an emphasis in loans under $500,000. Loans over $500,000 will partner with a senior lender. Work with a senior SBA relationship manager in all stages of the loan process including administrative tasks, organization of pipeline, meetings, and other daily tasks. Work with senior relationship manager to accept credit applications, interview loan applicants, review applications and credit histories. Evaluate existing and projected company cash flow. Work with a senior SBA relationship manager to structure an SBA loan. Develop and present loan proposals, including terms, conditions, and repayment structures, that align with both SBA requirements and the needs of the business. Collect past due accounts and/or support SBA portfolio management in the collection of accounts. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with banking / credit union regulations including internal credit union policies. Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism. Perform assigned duties in accordance with Gesa Credit Union and the SBA’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values; and provide the members with timely, responsive, and exceptional service in accordance with the credit union’s customer service standards. Provide exceptional, timely, and responsive customer service to both internal members/teams as well as external partnerships and members. Learn and understand SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Perform job duties with limited daily supervision, exercising a high level of discretion and sound judgment.
