Job Description Summary
The SBA Client Specialist is a sales consultant position that spearheads the entire SBA loan closing process for our small business customers obtaining a government back SBA 7a loan facility. The SBA CS works with SBA Bankers, Borrowers, Sellers, Attorneys, Brokers, SBA Eligibility, Underwriters, Closers, Title Companies and the regional markets to collect necessary documentation and promote the loan closing process. They coordinate interaction between all necessary parties with the goal of closing the loans within 30 – 45 days of commitment. Engages with the customers regularly to discuss, explain and mentor the prospective borrowers through the nuances of SBA lending. SBA CSs are the subject matter experts in the SBA lending process. Additionally, they coordinate with all parties to establish realistic closing dates. This role requires constant customer interaction while working in a fast-paced environment with aggressive timelines.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for closing SBA loans and meeting established volume and unit levels monthlyResponsible for the day-to-day interaction between Huntington and the client and coordinating the closing of SBA Express loans. Obtain all necessary documentation required to meet the terms and conditions of credit approval.Manage a large customer pipeline as well as expediting the loan closing process within expected service levels.Facilitate the referral process between SBA Sales and other areas of the bank, establishing strong intra-bank relationships.Performs other duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent requiredA minimum of two years’ experience:With business banking loans in a sales position / environmentPreferred Qualifications:
Excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time management skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, production environment.Experience with SBA lendingExperience with Huntington Business Banking & Velocity programsVery strong Sales/Customer Service skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills to include the ability to interact with internal and external customers to achieve positive results.Experience with Microsoft Office software and other HNB systems.
