Compensation Range
Hourly: $26.25 - $39.90 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)About This Job
As a Small Business Banking Underwriter, you will underwrite business loan requests up to $1 million that results in the acquisition, cross-sell, profitability, and retention of Small Business customers. The underwriter balances the risk of the credit against the potential value of the relationship to make the best decision.
Essential Functions
Underwrite business loan requests up to $1 million that results in the acquisition, cross-sell, profitability, and retention of Small Business customers
Analyze financial statements and collateral while performing industry research
Identify opportunities to expand relationships and alternative options for the customer
Provide remote deposit support, including processing and decisioning
Maintain loan procedures and clear compliance exceptions on a timely basis
Perform loan processing, remote deposit support and compliance management
Perform loan processing duties, including the review for completion and moving the application forward in the loan platform system
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
Basic understanding of corporate/legal structures and corporate governance documents and their respective relationships to effectively bind necessary borrowers
Basic understanding of a variety of collateral types, ways to value, and documentation needed to perfect security interest
Basic understanding of loan policy and identification of credit exceptions
Basic understanding of financial statements and trend analysis
Solid credit understanding and analysis skills
Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to assess current and future potential risk factors
Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
2+ years underwriting experience required
*Hybrid Schedule: In office 3 days per week
