Northrop Grumman is seeking experienced personnel with P-3 aircraft background to support a maintenance program with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Jacksonville, Fl. The CBP P-3 fleet consists of Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and Long Range Tracker (LRT) high-endurance, all-weather, tactical turbo-prop aircraft. The CBP P-3 aircraft are equipped with state of the art, highly sophisticated sensor equipment, i.e., radar, electro-optical and infrared (EO/IR) detecting systems. The position is located in Jacksonville and your primary duty is to inspect aircraft maintenance on systems, equipment and parts for operation and conformance to customer and company standards and specifications.
SCA Aircraft Mechanic 3 Contingent on candidate completion of CBP Background Investigation. CBP has final approval authority of the selected candidate.
Your duties include:
Inspect the adjustments, repairs or modifications made on the P-3 aircraft and components. Monitor, verify and document work quality in accordance with statistical process and other control procedures. Ensure P-3 aircraft and subcomponent airworthiness. This position is posted in support of the CBP P-3 program with tasking that includes, but not limited to:
• Inspection of aircraft and subsystems, both scheduled and unscheduled
• Audits and spot checks of site programs and processes
• Review work packages for completeness and accuracy
• Make required database entries into Electronic Maintenance Records system
• Run weekly and Ad Hoc reports from Electronic Maintenance Records system
• Support the In House Repair shops as required
• Conduct root cause analysis investigation of failure of parts or process
• Assist Maintenance Control with preparation of time sensitive reports.
• Conduct and record trend analysis.
• A current Airframe and Powerplant license with an Inspection Authorization (IA) certification.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years related to large multi engine turboprop aircraft maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of various Aviation or Aerospace practices.
• Knowledge of various Aviation Inspection practices and Quality standards.
• A minimum of 4 years of practical experience with the application and use of technical data and blueprints.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience analyzing situations to discover facts, knowledge, and interpretations to carry out prescribed action(s).
• A minimum of 4 years’ experience with aircraft logbooks and airworthiness release of aircraft.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook).
• Ability to work flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays and weekends.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport for OCONUS travel.
• Ability to travel on short notice a minimum of 10% of the year.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Active Secret Level Security Clearance.
• Ability to be on-call for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
• Ability to obtain/maintain a CBP Background Investigation (BI) is required to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active Flight Operations site experience with large multiengine aircraft
• 10 years’ maintenance experience with P-3 platform
• Current Active CBP Security Credentials
• Four years of aircraft maintenance inspection experience
• Working knowledge of NavAir publications
