SCA Engineering Technician I
**Job Description** The selected candidate will become part of a team that is committed to providing a vital advantage to help our customers protect what really matters. Will assist in the fabrication/assembly of components, cables and subsystems and in the modification and upgrade of existing electronic components. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in basic electronic assembly and seeking to start a career as a technician. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** High School Diploma Mechanical aptitude and some experience with a range of hand and power tools Ability to frequently work in a sitting, standing or walking position Ability to frequently lift and carry 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry 50 pounds Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. driver's license Ability to obtain a passport and to travel up to 50% of the year within the U.S. and overseas Basic operational skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings and specific instructions Soldering and cable fabrication experience **Pay Information** This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
