The SCA Expeditor performs a broad range of supportive and necessary school construction technical tasks of varying degrees of difficulty in a variety of assignments within the Construction Management department.  This position will be office based, no field travel required. 

Responsibilities

Reviews documents submitted for City building and other permits for completeness and accuracy  

Provides support to permit applicants in completing the filing procedure with various City agencies  

Delivers documents to various city agencies for data entry, review and/or approval  

Works closely with Plan Examiners in reviewing documents for City Building Code and for guaranteeing compliance  

Researches existing building status from City records at various agencies 

Performs related tasks

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED from accredited program

3 years of full-time experience performing: construction document review, zoning compliance, filing and facilitating permit approval

Or equivalent combination of education and experience 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs 

Strong technical and communication skills  

Excellent organizational skills  

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing needs 

Ability to work in a team environment 

Ability to collaborate on a daily basis with project team  

Proven capability to establish specific, measurable, attainable performance goals and holds others accountable for achieving them 

Understanding of contract documents and specifications  

 

Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.

For New York, New York this ranges from $78,000.00 - $89,000.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
