About The Position

The Engineer provides engineering support in all phases of maintenance, operations, design and modifications of the distribution control office, SCADA and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).

Key responsibilities include:

Support numerous applications and tools used for monitoring, analyzing, dispatching and optimizing the Ameren Missouri distribution and subtransmission assets.

Develop new software applications, maintenance/modifications to existing applications as well as hardware support. Maintains database and system displays.

Provides daily operating support of the distribution control office and field support of several operating groups. Supports field groups in the safe and reliable operation of transmission and distribution substations. Trains and supports the distribution system operators on SCADA and ADMS.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution required. Experience in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering preferred. Computer operating experience in Windows, Linux or similar operating systems preferred. Experience with energy management computer systems or SCADA computer systems preferred. An understanding of electrical power systems and devices as well as an understanding of control systems in the context of electrical engineering are both preferred. Ability to develop software in C, C#, and SQL preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Demonstrated skill in software maintenance and development required. Must have demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities while consistently creating quality work products. An independent use of judgment and the ability to work through ambiguity and change is critical.
