Scalar Architect, Displays

Scaler Architect is responsible for driving the display architecture with all other architects for Displays products and being a subject matter expert evangelizing the value of the new scaler/SoC to GBU. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function.
Responsibility
Develops display architectures and scaler/SoC/Edge AI strategies for display product engineering across Consumer and Commercial offerings.Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and silicon partner relationships for alignment with strategy roadmap and business value.Creates plans for new silicon introduction, technology integration and new experience into displays, while effectively communicating the proposal, and results, and negotiating options at business unit and executive levels.Reviews and evaluates product designs and project activities to ensure the desired experiences implemented.Oversees troubleshooting, initiates design improvements and documentation with the R&D, Engineering, and operations teams to achieve continuous improvement.Provides tangible feedback based on results to improve product quality and mitigate risk of product failure.Contributes innovative ideas, exercising independent judgment to solve unique and complex problems impacting the business.Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise, developing strategy and setting functional policy and direction.Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, silicon partners and ODMs.Guides and mentors staff members on product engineering design, innovation and excellence.Qualifications
Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.Typically has 10+ years of work experience, preferably in product design & development, or a related field.Knowledge & Skills
