The Scaler is responsible for receipt and inspection of all trucks containing roundwood, chips and bark delivered to the facility. Encode appropriate ticket information to be used for wood settlements. Scale, receive and/or ship all other trucks and rail cars as directed by management
How you’ll shape the future of the Wood Procurement Team:
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory and production reports for procurement and accounting.
Inspect and weigh all trucks using ISO standards.
Participate in weekly safety topics and monthly safety value exchange
Communicate with chip mill and woodyard operators to ensure a smooth flow of trucks through the woodyard to ensure low truck turnaround times.
Maintain scale house and all equipment in clean and orderly conditions and arrange inspections and repairs as needed.
You’ll be someone who can bring:
High School Diploma required, college or technical degree is a plus.
2-5 years in forestry or warehouse related fields preferred.
Ability to understand roundwood, chip, and bark quality specifications
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Advance knowledge of computers systems or applications a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
