Responsibilities This announcement is being used to develop a non-competitive applicant pool of Schedule A candidates for various positions throughout the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). In order to qualify, applicants must be eligible for appointment under Schedule A. All applicants must be aware that Schedule A DOES NOT guarantee selection for employment, only a method in which to be considered for employment. Minimum Qualification Requirements: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the next lower grade level. Please view the qualifications link: General Schedule Qualifications Standards Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education Education Requirement: Dependent upon the position, there may be educational requirements. Testing Designated Position: Positions may be a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing thereafter. Failure to test or a positive result on random drug tests conducted after appointment may result in removal from Federal employment. Appointment Types: Positions are located agency-wide and may be filled as permanent, term, or temporary with a full-time work schedule. Pay will vary by geographic location and grade. Appointments made with this authority may be processed as a new appointment into the Civil Service. Supervisory Status: Dependent upon the position selected for. Positions may be filled at varying levels of leadership, i.e. Team Lead, Manager, Supervisor. There may or may not be promotion potential depending upon the actual position filled. Workplace Flexibility at CMS: CMS offers flexible working arrangements and allows employees the opportunity to participate in telework combined with alternative work schedules at the manager's discretion. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
