Scheduler is directly responsible for the hands-on planning of materials, production, and distribution of the South Haven, MI facility. This is a cross-functional role that aligns both warehouse and production needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Align procurement, materials planning and warehouse activities according to sales and production forecasts. IFS ERP system, ensuring that the system is always accurate and utilized to its capacity. Assist in developing and executing a sourcing strategy to meet the company’s business growth, cost savings initiatives, and sourcing requirements. Develop and execute a materials planning strategy to meet the company’s business objectives. Foster and promote innovative solutions that drive cost reduction and continuous improvement of the Supply Chain process. Identify, develop, and manage effective relationships with existing and potential suppliers of goods and services to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets. Maintain appropriate quantity of supplies and materials that support optimized production runs and safety stock while minimizing inventory on hand. Coordinate and work with all Site functions to ensure on-time delivery by monitoring production schedules to proactively identify and address any issues. Establish, maintain and drive improvement activities for all supply related KPI’s, to include OTIF, inventory levels, production schedule attainment, purchase order management and others as needed. Develop and maintain policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety. Responsible for overseeing accuracy of inventory counts by implementing and managing an inventory control system, capable of identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future. Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments. \n Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the areas of procurement, production planning, inventory control, and distribution. APICS certification preferred. Experience with ERP/MRP systems, preferably IFS and Cedar Bay. Manufacturing background, preferably in food packaging products and/or plastics injection molding. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate with all areas of the business. Lean / Six Sigma experience preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands. \n
