Join our Surgery Department as a Scheduling Assistant! This is a full-time position, working 80 hours every two weeks. Shifts will be 5 days a week, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Job Summary:
The Scheduling Assistant will function as a central communication coordinator by taking phone calls from providers, clinics, and other schedulers to schedule procedures of all types within the Surgery department. They will also be taking phone calls from doctors and surgeons who are in the operating room to alert staff to prepare the next patient for surgery. Other duties will include verification of case related information, schedule utilization, and the coordination of anesthesiology, nursing, and equipment resources. Organization, ability to prioritize, problem solve, focus on details, and provide excellent customer service is essential in this role. Qualifications:
One year post high school training in a clerical/medical secretary program preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology and experience in medical office setting with electronic patient scheduling, provider orders, and medical records preferred. We will train the right individual.
