The Working Scheduling Supervisor position is responsible to ensure accurate and complete procedure scheduling processes and workflows. Procedure scheduling includes all surgical procedures that occur in the Ambulatory Surgery Centers and the AtlantiCare hospital operating rooms at both City and Mainland campuses. This role may also assist with scheduling office procedures if needed on an interim basis.
This position works with the clinical team, to maintain accurate and dense schedules to ensure timely patient care and optimal surgical efficiencies. The Supervisor communicates regularly within the department, the ASC and OR and PAT services as well as with their patients and their family members, providing optimal customer service.
This position also works as a part of the care team and supports team objectives by assisting other team members, including RNs, MA's CSRs, SOS's when necessary. As the Supervisor, they monitor daily procedure volumes, schedule density and physician block time and scheduling staff productivity and job performance. The supervisor role also schedule surgical procedures 50% of the time and will delegate assignments based on priority and situational need to ensure timely and accurate completion of the procedure scheduling process.
The Working Scheduling Supervisor position coordinates a wide variety of patient information, tasks, and workflows between multiple teams and departments and is also responsible for understanding the patient check-in and check-out process, as well as the Oracle system and various other tools and applications necessary to perform all necessary scheduling related tasks.
This position will report to the Director of Urology and will work closely with the Scheduling Team Lead to improve workforce initiatives, department goals and patient & provider satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: MA or RN certification preferred
EXPERIENCE: 3 years' experience in a hospital, ASC or physician practice as a Customer Service Representative, scheduler, MA, RN or other related position required. Knowledge of medical terminology and computer experience with Oracle and STAR is preferred.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the technical competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role will reside in a fast-paced environment and will require sitting and working at a computer at least 50% of the workday. The essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position will report to the Director of Urology and will work closely with the Scheduling Team Lead to improve workforce initiatives and patient & provider satisfaction.
