Cummins is seeking experienced office professionals for a position as School-based Access Representative for school-based programs.
School-based Access Representative ensure that people seeking services are connected to providers and services necessary to receive treatment in an office setting and with remote work options. The School-based Access Representative plays a critical role in Cummins’ interactive culture, as they are usually the first contact for people seeking services, arriving for treatment, and seeking first contact assistance when calling into the organization.
As the gateway to the organization, the School-based Access Representative is calm, kind, and respectful as necessary to establish and maintain a safe climate. School-based Access Representative s complete registration for new consumers as well as completing check-in and check-out procedures ongoing with people served, completing tasks such as scheduling appointments and accepting payment. Additionally, School-based Access Representative s provide general office support to optimize care for the people we serve.
Essential Functions
Regular and reliable attendance is necessary to perform the following essential functions of the position:
1. Handling Incoming Phone Calls- Answering incoming phone calls; Routinely checking voicemail and callbacks as needed; Screening for Crisis as necessary; Guiding people to Same Day Assessment;
3. Registering new clients- Completing the registration in the electronic Health Record; Completing Financial Verification; Assisting a client in using a clean room for virtual services; Guiding clients in accessing the patient portal
4. Scheduling Appointments- Scheduling appointments according to the Engagement Policy; Coordinating Interpreter Services
6. General Office Support- Distribute incoming mail; Completing office supplies order requests; Send, receive, and distribute facsimiles; Scanning documentation into the health record; General office support as needed; Coordinating with environmental services for office needs
9. Managing Referrals- Coordinating new school, DCS and probation referrals; Interface with electronic referral management systems
* Assume other duties and responsibilities as determined necessary and/or assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred; two to three years medical office experience (behavioral health preferred.)
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
· Customer Service Skills- ability to positively interact with customers; ability to maintain a friendly attitude;
· Communication Skills- ability to clearly communicate information; actively listen; resolve misunderstandings.
· Basic Computer Skills- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environment including Word and Excel.
· Professional Appearance and Demeanor- Ability to professionally represent the organization as the first point of contact to people accessing our services.
