Physical Therapist

We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist who will support students at one of our partner schools in South Lyon, MI. This position will be supporting a small caseload of students across varying ages. This position is slated to begin in May and will last through the end of the 2024-25 school year (May/June), with the opportunity to provide services in the summer.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate students' physical abilities, motor skills, and functional limitations through assessments and observationsDevelop individualized treatment plans and goals based on students' needs and IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirementsProvide direct physical therapy services to students, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, gait training, and assistive device trainingMonitor students' progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and document observations, assessments, and therapy interventions accurately and timelyCollaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the integration of physical therapy services with the educational programEducate and guide teachers, staff, and parents on strategies and techniques to enhance students' physical development and functional skills in the school environmentParticipate in IEP meetings and provide input regarding students' physical therapy goals, progress, and necessary accommodations or modificationsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, research, and developments in the field of pediatric physical therapy

Requirements:

Master's or Doctorate in Physical Therapy Valid MI PT licenseExperience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
