Position Overview:

This position is for an anticipated opening with one of our school partners for the 2024-2025 school year. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of children and their families. In this unique role, you will play a crucial role in supporting and providing services to children facing various emotional, behavioral, and social challenges.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide support (whole group, small group, 1:1) to identified students with IEPsProvide SEL support to students without IEPs in the general education settingImplement crisis intervention strategies to ensure student safety and success of studentsAdvocate for the well-being of students (social/emotional/academic)Cross-functional collaboration with teachers and families to understand how to best meet student needsProvide push-in services and conduct social skills groups as neededActively participate in IEP and related meetingsCreate and maintain interventions in order to understand the effectiveness of IEPsFamiliarity with FBAs a plusOther duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Master’s (MSW) or Doctoral degree in Social WorkDistrict of Columbia Government Department of Health Social Work LicensePrevious experience in an educational setting is preferredDistrict of Columbia Certification as a School Social Worker
