**Waste Connections of Washington** is looking for a **School Waste Reduction Educator** to join our team in **Vancouver, WA!** Schedule is **Monday - Friday** , **8:00 AM – 5:00 PM** with some evening and weekend work, as needed. Wage is **$23.00/HR - $25.00/HR** Safety Sensitive: **Yes** As a **School Waste Reduction Educator** you will assist Clark County Solid Waste and Environmental Education Division in waste reduction education and outreach through the Clark County Green Schools Program. You will also work collaboratively with the Waste Connections Waste Reduction Team at community events tabling and assisting with educational presentations. **QUALIFICATIONS:** + Familiarity with Clark County and regional recycling and waste reduction practices + Bachelor's degree in a field related to area of assignment; and sufficient experience needed for the level of the position + Proven ability to maintain effective working relationships + Proven teaching skills + Excellent written and verbal presentation skills + Microsoft Office experience (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) + Excellent self-motivation skills; strong work ethic + Strong active listening and communication skills + Must have a valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record **RESPONSIBILITIES:** **School Waste Reduction through Clark County Green Schools** + Assist schools in wasted food reduction and food waste diversion + Assist schools in reducing waste and recycling correctly + Deliver recycling bins and materials as requested + Communicate with school staff + Monitor school cafeteria waste reduction efforts **Support EarthGen (formerly Washington Green Schools)** + Promote program to school staff + Support program by assisting schools with needed data and giving presentations **Lead Lessons and Activities** + Teach various lessons offered by Clark County Green Schools + Conduct Waste Audits **Schedule and Lead Tours at West Van Materials Recovery Facility** + Schedule Tidewater tour as requested **Assist and Support Waste Connections Waste Reduction Team** + Respond to RecycleHelp email messages + Complete required reports + Table at community and team events + Assist team members with presentations **To be considered for any of our current openings you must complete an application at** **www.wasteconnections.com** **.
