**Science Bound Director** **Requisition Number:** 63244 **Location:** Boulder Colorado **Employment Type:** Faculty **Schedule:** Full Time **Posting Close Date:** **Date Posted:** **Job Summary** The Miramontes Arts & Sciences Program (MASP) is seeking a Program Director for our Science Bound Program for July/Aug 2025 and the Academic Year 2025-2026. The Science Bound Program Director will be responsible for: collaborating with MASP and the Division of Natural Sciences to sustain the mission of the program, leading and overseeing the program as a whole, teaching the Science Bound courses, and mentoring students in the Science Bound cohorts. The appointment is rostered in College of Arts & Sciences as a 100% Assistant Teaching Professor position (non-tenure track, 9-month appointment). Additional time will be required during part of the summer, and additional summer salary will be available for the duties that require time outside of the 9-month appointment. The appointment will initially be for two years, with the possibility of renewal thereafter. The position has a start date of July 15, 2025. The position requires being in-person and on campus during the 9-month academic year and some parts of the summer. MASP supports first-generation college students and/or students who want to be part of an inviting, multicultural academic enrichment community. MASP is a cooperative and collaborative program that offers a participation scholarship and dedicated space for activities, advising, studying, and seminars. Science Bound is a one-year program for first-year students within MASP who are majoring and/or interested in the Natural Sciences. Science Bound focuses on: building a strong and inviting community among students who have similar academic interests, helping students develop their scientific literacy and professional skills early in their academic career, and connecting students to opportunities in their area of interest. In addition to academic and programming support, Science Bound students receive both faculty and peer mentoring. The program is implemented in collaboration between MASP and the Division of Natural Sciences. For additional Information on MASP and Science Bound please visit our website at https://www.colorado.edu/masp/. **What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be** _Collaboration_ + Coordinate with the Executive Directors of Science Bound in both MASP and the Natural Sciences to sustain the mission of the program + Lead co-curricular Science Bound programming, including, but not limited to, the pre-arrival orientation, spring welcome back dinner, spring graduation, and second year programming + Train and supervise peer mentors + Aid MASP with recruitment & selection of new cohorts + Assessment and report writing + Grant writing _Instruction_ + Teach two sections (approx. 20 students each) of the 1-credit Science Bound course in Fall semester + Lead two sections (approx. 20 students each) of the 1-credit Science Bound Program Colloquium in Spring semester + Lead and teach in the Fall Research Retreat _Mentoring_ + Mentor approximately 40 first-year students + Outreach to and provide optional mentoring for approximately 40 second-year students **What You Should Know** We are committed to providing a supportive, multicultural community for students and encourage faculty to apply who will enrich our community and further our strategic priorities.
