Scientific Communications & Content Strategy Lead (all genders)
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Scientific Communications & Content Development, Ophthalmology, will translate scientific data on assigned products into relevant product communication, education, and training materials. This position will also Identify gaps between brand communications and supportive data and recommend remedies (analyses, expert position statements, educational programs) to be implemented to support the brand and medical strategic imperatives across indications.
Major Tasks:
The primary responsibilities of this role are to direct, in collaboration with the Scientific Communications & Content Strategy Lead:
the planning, development and implementation of global workshops, advisory boards and other stand-alone scientific educational programs that generate important information to guide ongoing communications efforts for Ophthalmology to the global medical and scientific community;the development and implementation of the global congress strategies and plans for the presentation of data, scientific symposia and other scientific education programs that communicate important information to the global medical and scientific community;the development and implementation of internal scientific communications to ensure that new product and scientific information are disseminated appropriately to medical colleagues globally;the planning and development of core medical materials globally for local implementation. Ensures consistency in scientific messaging across products and indications;Additional responsibilities include:
Participates in the planning, reviewing, editing of scientific abstracts, presentations, manuscripts, review articles, symposia proceedings, as needed. Ensures the data are relevant to the global medical and scientific community and are aligned with internal communication strategies;Develops and maintains global training platforms and materials to ensure consistency with latest developments.
WHO YOU ARE
Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D, or Pharm.D,) in a scientific discipline;Ophthalmology training/experience is preferred;Preferably, disease and therapeutic area knowledge in Bayer's existing portfolio and new opportunities.Minimum of five years' of industry experience;Experience in a related scientific/medical/pharmaceutical area and experience must include scientific communications and/or medical writing;Proven ability to interpret scientific and clinical trial data and present that information in different formats for appropriate audiences;Awareness and understanding of good publication practices and their implications;Understanding of the drug development process over different stages;Understanding of global regulations and guidelines;Thorough knowledge of company policies and processes;Experience of developing and delivering presentations and publications in English;Strong written and oral communication skills;A strong global mindset;Experience working across boundaries and geographies and building effective working relationships between functions;Proven record of relationship building, both internally and externally to the organization.
