Job Description We are seeking a highly experienced remote Scientific Programmer specializing in migrating scientific applications to a cloud environment. The candidate will support a growing Cloud Services practice. These strategic cloud initiatives intend to increase the bureau's IT efficiency, improve IT delivery, and reduce costs. Duties/Responsibilities:  Develop automation code for CI/CD tools such as GitLab Runner  Use Python to develop programs and docker containers and Kubernetes using CI/CD pipelines  Coordinate with users on Jira and Confluence project set up and customization  Work closely with cloud architects, developers, and engineers to ensure seamless deployment and integration of Kubernetes-based applications  Create and maintain robust documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.  Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues occurring along the CI/CD pipeline to maintain smoother operations.  Research, design, deploy, provision, and document new technologies implemented within the environment  Implement modern ground systems and applications and underlying technology stacks  Participate with the Information Security partners and implement cybersecurity updates to the system Pay range: $40/hr - $57/hr We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Required Skills  BS/BA in Computer Science, a Technical Field, or other related disciplines  4+ years experience migrating scientific applications from on-premise systems to a Cloud environment  Demonstrated experience programming in Python and experience with docker containers and Kubernetes using CI/CD pipelines  Demonstrated experience working in an agile/scrum team.  Experience building and leveraging GitLab runners.  Experience with code-defined Infrastructure, configuration management tools, and CI/CD  Experience working with Cloud Service Providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platforms  Experience and understanding of large-scale infrastructure deployments in enterprise-wide environments leveraging DevOps principles and utilizing a CI/CD pipeline  Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills  Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Desired Skills  Federal government experience  2+ years experience with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) null We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
