[The Associate Director for SRA China performs overall management of a variety of regulatory governance activities and systems related to ingredients/ raw materials, recipes/ finished products, labelling, claims, to ensure compliance with China applicable laws and regulations, in accordance with internal processes, Mars policies, effectively and efficiently for Mars Wrigley China business.
This position also acts proactively and strategically, identifies potential regulatory issues and trends, develop strategies, drive effective approach and advocacy, including industry collaboration and stakeholder network to develop a positive scientific and regulatory environment for innovation and business goals.]

MANAGEMENT OF REGULATORY COMPLIANCE, Overall management on all food regulatory compliance activities (excluding on food contact material) mainly for confectionery, chocolate, biscuit, ice cream and other snacks and treats categories, related to product formula, raw material/ingredient (MRA), labeling, claims, nutrition label and regulatory database management, to ensure compliance with applicable food laws, regulations/ standards, Mars SRA standards /policies.
- Optimize resources efficient, and/ or develop effective systems (data and SOP document), tools and processes, collaboration approaches and models if needs, to manage compliance initiatives annual plan, continuous improvement and budget.
- Lead SRA Mars Standards deployment and drive Regulation Change Management in China, and ensure audit 0 major finding.
- Lead and handle in the complex issue, eliminate/ minimize negative impact, by leveraging food scientific risk assessment, policy interpretation and stakeholder engagement.
REGULATION INFLUENCING
- Anticipate China food policy trend and capture scientific professional insights to co-lead RPPG (Regional Public Policy Group)programs on food safety, ingredient of concern, H&N and Packaging Sustainability from regulatory insights and perspectives.
- Advocate new scientific trends (e.g., H&N) with Mars interests, develop claim strategy and promote product benefit story through external stakeholders engagement that benefit and further the company’s innovation and growth strategies for China.
- Lead China Product/ Ingredient Registration agenda under innovation strategy, regional portfolio pipeline and Technology research readiness, connecting with authority agenda.
LEADERSHIP and EXPERTISE
Provides regional strategic advice, solutions and technical expertise on regional SRA teams capability building, to ensure governance and appropriate solution in an agile way. Keeps abreast of key developments in FOOD REGULATION via literature reviews, meeting attendance, and participation in trade association activities so that potential impact to MWC, can be examined and addressed.
Leads and drives complex SRA/R&D projects/ program as assigned.
