The Molecular Profiling and Data Science Department at Regeneron is seeking an enthusiastic and rigorous scientist who values independent research in an open and collaborative work environment.

In this role, a typical day might include:

The candidate will operate at the interface of dry and wet-lab environments, leading software development and bioinformatic analyses to help the Regeneron Genetics Medicines department create next-generation gene therapies (gene editing, suppression, expression, and insertion).

They will contribute to cutting-edge technologies such as AAVs, si/shRNAs, LNPs, and CRISPR-Cas9 to treat and cure diseases.

The candidate will be part of a group consisting of computational scientists with backgrounds ranging from biology to physics with knowledge in genomics and machine learning.

They will work closely with the NGS team and wet-lab scientists across Regeneron to create genetic therapies for a wide range of diseases.

This role might be for you if can:

Design, generate and interpret high dimensional data from key platform technologies to support the Regeneron Genetic Medicines department develop novel genetic therapy strategies.

Develop, implement and utilize pipelines in R and/or Python to carry out a range of bioinformatic analyses on large volumes of omics data.

Set priorities and ensure project completion within pre-defined timeframes.

Present results to internal stakeholders, publish in peer-reviewed journals, participate in cross-functional meetings and external activities, and contribute to patent and regulatory filings.

The ideal candidate will have a combination of:

Experience with NGS, as well as experimental wet-lab molecular biology and genetic techniques, such as cloning and CRISPR.

Experience extracting biological insights from transcriptomics, genomics, and other omics datasets at the single-cell and bulk level.

Demonstrated experience with applying statistics, especially machine learning models, to answer biological questions.

Familiarity with a Linux environment, shell scripting, and high-performance computing clusters.

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following:

A BSc + 2 years of industry experience, or an MSc in Quantitative Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, or related field.

Hands-on experience developing and using bioinformatic tools to analyze omics datasets.

Ability to apply quantitative reasoning when analyzing data, with an appropriate understanding of the assumptions and models used to make inferences.

Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills, allowing you to engage with diverse audiences and navigate between high-level motivations and technical details.

An independent, problem-solving mindset, with the capacity to introduce novel bioinformatic pipelines and dive deep into data while balancing different internal priorities from diverse preclinical programs.
