Job Description
The Position:
In this role you’ll take part in the early-stage drug development in the research laboratory. You’ll be contributing to research and drug screening with focus on cell culture and cell assays to support company’s drug development projects.
Responsibilities:
Independently conduct drug screening in cell assays including planning, scheduling and performing experiments, data analysis, quality control and result reporting
Cell culturing, maintaining cell lines and conducting cell assays
Development and implementation of novel in vitro assays
Review literature on specific topics and prepare presentations thereof
Report, summarize and present experimental results to the project team
Support development of new cellular assays and protocols
General operations in the laboratory, including laboratory cleanliness, maintaining inventory, and maintaining analysis equipment
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Applicable education, e.g., Master of Science in Biology, Pharmacology, Biomedicine, Biochemistry or related fieldAdvanced knowledge in molecular and cellular biologyRequired experience of cell culture and cellular assays under aseptic conditions1-3 years of hands-on experience of different cell lines, biological sample preparation and performing biological experiments in laboratory settingsExperience in drug research and/or development laboratory is requiredBasic knowledge of commonly used methodologies in biological and life science researchGood written and verbal skills in Finnish and EnglishAbility to work independentlyAbility to operate in multidisciplinary teamsAbility to follow detailed instructions and ability to carefully record conducted work in EnglishSecondary Job Description
