The Position & Role Responsibilities:
The purpose of the role of a Research Chemist is to contribute to research and drug screening to support company’s drug development projects. The primary activities include but are not limited to the following:
Work as hands-on chemist in a laboratory
Develop and optimize synthesis methods for novel compounds
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry or other applied science
Hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry
Experience in analysis; TLC, NMR, HPLC, UPLC-MS
Experience in ChemOffice programs and databases, experience on SciFinder/Reaxys searches
Ability to follow instructions
Flexibility with sudden changes in tasks and priorities
Excellent written and oral communication skills in Finnish and English
Problems solving abilities
Systematic and careful approach to synthesis and analysis
Ability to operate as a team member
Ability to analyze and report data
Ability to learn quickly and adapt new information and methodologies
Innovation in producing new knowledge
Ability to engage in scientific thinking

Etsimme Oulun kemian laboratorioomme orgaanisen synteesikemianalan vahvaa ammattilaista (Kemisti FM tai vastaava).
Organon R&D Finland on Turussa ja Oulussa toimiva lääkekehitysyritys, joka kuuluu kansainväliseen Organon konserniin. Organon R&D Finland kehittää uusia hoitomuotoja naisten hormonaalisiin sairauksiin. Haemme Oulun synteesikemian laboratorioon kemistiä orgaanisen kemian alalta.
Tutkimusryhmän jäsenenä Oulussa olet mukana kehittämässä uusia lääkeaineita ja päivittäisessä ”hands-on” laboratoriotyöskentelyssä osallistut mm. uusien lääkeaineyhdisteiden synteesiin ja analyysiin. Työtehtävät tarkentuvat myöhemmin hakijan koulutuksen ja osaamisen perusteella.
Sinulla on tehtävään soveltuva koulutus ja hallitset erinomaisesti orgaanisen synteesikemian työmenetelmät. Työtehtävien onnistunut hoitaminen edellyttää sinulta innovatiivisuutta, hyviä vuorovaikutustaitoja ja kykyä toimia ryhmässä. Kykenet itsenäiseen ja oma-aloitteiseen työskentelyyn, sinulla on positiivinen asenne ja pystyt toimimaan myös vaihtelevissa, aikataulupaineita sisältävissä ja joustavuutta vaativissa työtehtävissä.
