Job Description

We are seeking a motivated scientist to join the Human Safety Team supporting Fabric and Home Care. The role is to provide human safety support for project teams to progress consumer testing, clinical/preclinical safety studies, and resolve real and/or perceived human safety issues.

You will support current and upstream R&D business initiatives for F&HC in one or more categories, on a regional and global basis. You will also be an owner to and held accountable for category project knowledge including: key technologies/ingredients, potential safety concerns, regulatory constraints, consumer behavior information, market safety profile, and more.

We expect the right candidate can independently design, execute, and interpret preclinical and clinical safety data to ensure there is robust safety program to establish consumer safety of regional and/or globally marketed F&HC products. You'll also partner within and across the organization and use expertise to enable timely, scientifically-found safety guidance and resolve safety issues and external challenges as they arise.

We will provide an environment to explain complex technical issues to a variety of audiences and external organizations. Having superior interpersonal skills is a must, alongside strong ability to build relationships with people across regions.

Job Qualifications

PhD in Toxicology, Pharmacology or bioscience/life science backgroundRisk assessment training/experience is helpfulExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to excel in an environment with a rapid pace and constantly shifting priorities.Strong leadership to develop and convey robust, principle-based positions while respecting questions or ideas from others.Familiarity with digital innovation and associated digital skills such as work automation, development of digital tools are desirable.Understanding of potential toxicities, mechanisms of action, and target tissues of specific product active ingredients and inactive ingredients for products supported.Ability to identify potential safety issues with new or currently marketed products and manage any risks/issues in a proactive manner.Understanding of GLP and GCP regulations that govern product development and conduct of product and ingredient safety evaluation, both human and animal testing. Ability to leverage this understanding toward the placement and interpretation of safety studies.
