Scientist – Spatial Transcriptomics, Molecular Biology

The Scientist is expected to lead the development of fit for purpose methods/assays aimed to support vaccine projects using spatial transcriptomics and single cell approaches. Key Responsibilities Establishing, optimizing and applying protocols for spatial transcriptomics assays Leading in experimental design, execution and coordination of projects requiring spatial omics Helping with data interpretation and playing a key role in communicating of project results on scientific progress in meetings Generating novel ideas for biological applications, method development and scouting for novel technologies in the context of single-cell and/or spatial omics Attention to detail, accurate working style and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and within a group Excellent written and oral communication skills in English Solve complex problems through analytical thinking to identify and understand alternatives using knowledge gained through formal education, experience, and sound judgment. Ensure highest ethical standards, good scientific practices & data integrity are implemented in daily scientific activities Ensure timely data collection and reporting (including participation to internal/external scientific documents) in area of responsibility. Takes appropriate actions to resolve issues in area of responsibility affecting research strategy and progress Communicates issues proactively and effectively negotiates potential solutions Can participate in coordinating collaborative research studies with third parties but also master students Why you? Qualifications: A MSc. or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology/Genetics/Genomics/Immunology, or equivalent Experience with and in-depth knowledge of classical molecular biology techniques, including DNA, RNA and tissue handling (slide preparation, sectioning and staining). Experience with implementing spatial omics protocols and designing experimental workflows Experience with and broad understanding of nucleic acid probe design, nucleic acid hybridization, fluorescence microscopy, next-generation sequencing methodologies and library construction methods Experience with data analysis (NGS readout and/or image analysis) with R, python or equivalent, a plus. Other Job-Related Skills / Background: Fluent in English (oral and writing), French would be a plus Good communication skills, oral and writing Ability to present scientific data in front of large audience. Excellent interpersonal skills Dynamic, positive, and curious.
