The Lead CT Systems Scientist position distinguishes itself through driving a high emphasis on new product innovations and a strong focus on image/signal quality, system safety, and system calibration to drive significant design improvements in product architecture.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead a cross-functional team made up of  scientists, engineers, marketing, product definition, and chief engineers to define system requirements for new products and technology roadmaps Working across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement technology solutions on new product introductions Using broad technical expertise and experience of the team to help resolve complex design issues with current products Providing domain expertise to own/lead technical design reviews, investigation of technical risks, as well as providing innovative solutions to achieve optimal system performance Developing methods to quantify subsystem interactions and their effects on system performance and image/signal quality. Developing requirements for key system performance parameters as they relate to image/signal quality, system safety, performance and calibration Driving system tradeoff discussions within new product developments by having a full understanding of system architecture and interfaces Investigating customer questions and complaints to provide technical answers and solutions Providing technical leadership for project execution Implementing and teaching engineering principles and standards Driving innovation for competitive technical differentiation Mentoring junior engineers in area of expertise

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related field2 - 4 years of relevant academic or industry experience leading teams or driving technology developmentProven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems through strong understanding of mathematics, physics and image/signal processing fundamentalsProficient in the use of software tools for analysis, modeling and simulationsEffective communication skills - ability to present ideas clearly and conciselyDemonstrated ability to distribute tasks and manage a project to completionMust be legally authorized to work in the United States full-timeMust be willing to work in our Waukesha, WI facility full-timeDesired CharacteristicsCT physics, X-ray physics, CT calibration, CT imaging and CT image quality development experiencePh.D. Degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Medical Physics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related fieldDemonstrated record leading a team to deliver innovation in technology development4 - 6 years of relevant academic or industry experience leading teams or driving technology developmentExperience with CT specific device operation and troubleshooting issuesExcellent oral and written communication skillsExperience with research collaborationsSelf-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-taskDemonstrated problem solving ability and results orientationDemonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, matrixed, and customer focused environmentExcellent influencing skills and ability to gain buy-in for initiatives
