We are looking for:
A Scientist/Engineer to join our Research and Synthesis team within Technology Solutions GBU, contributing to our mission of advancing humanity through sustainable innovation. The Scientist/Engineer will be responsible for developing new products and solutions to drive innovation and support the growth of our businesses: Mining Solutions, Polymer Additives and Phosphorus Specialties.
We count on you to:
+ Support research and development activities on the interface of engineering and chemistry
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and perform laboratory experiments, and build application tools to support new product and process development
+ Assist with application testing and develop new products that meet customer requirements and market demands
+ Analyze and interpret experimental data, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders
+ Prioritize safety as the highest priority in all activities, ensuring compliance with all Syensqo safety protocols and industry regulations
+ Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with experimental procedures and hazardous chemical handling, maintain a safe and organized laboratory environment
+ Provide guidance and training to junior scientists and laboratory staff on safety procedures and best practices
+ Assist with preparation of ROIs and patent applications

You will bring:
+ BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Applied Chemistry
+ 3+ years’ experience (BSc), 2+ years’ experience (MSc) in an industrial product or process development laboratory
+ Knowledge of statistical data analysis is preferred
+ Experience with automation and ability to code in Python is a plus
+ A proven record of innovative thinking and problem solving
+ Strong enthusiasm for chemistry and mechanical aptitude for designing and building equipment
+ Willingness and ability to learn new technologies to match diverse industry needs
+ Must have a high degree of initiative and actively seek new tasks and job responsibilities
+ Great communication skills and high attention to details
You will get:
+ Competitive salary and benefits package.
+ The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $85,000.00 to $135,000.00 per year. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
