The Scientist I, Analytical Development is responsible for utilizing mass spectrometry and chromatography skills to support ongoing and upcoming client programs. This position reports to the Senior Manager I, Analytical Development and is part of the Biopharma Services team located in Vancouver, BC Canada and will be an onsite role. What you’ll do: + Independently perform advanced and specialized bio-analytical techniques, including, but not limited to, UHPLC-CAD, UHPLC-PDA, SEC, CE, and LC-MS to provide insights into nanomaterials such as Lipid Nanoparticles (LNPs), liposomes, or polymeric nanoparticles. + Translate analytical expertise to innovate novel capabilities supporting the pre-clinical development of LNP and nanomedicines. + Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation. + Contribute to efficient lab operations such as record keeping, inventory management, resource allocation, procurement, and associate training. + Prepare detailed and accurate analytical reports to share internally or with BPS clients as well as maintain appropriate lab records and documentation. Who you are: + PhD or MSc in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacy or related field with a minimum 2 years’ industry experience + Extensive liquid chromatography experience with HPLC- (UV, ELSD, CAD), LC-MS, LC-HRMS, and/or LC-MS/MS + Proven track record of analytical method development and assay suitability testing as per ICH/ FDA/ EMA guidelines + Deep and diverse expertise in biomolecule (E.g. Nucleic Acids, proteins, mABs), lipid, and excipient (Buffers, stabilizers, etc.) chemistry, ideally relating to Lipid Nanoparticles The salary range for this role is $80,000 – 100,000 CAD . This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
