We are seeking a highly motivated, hands on, and detail-oriented Metrology Scientist I to join our team. This entry level position will conduct research in generating innovative metrology to support product development for Bioprocess applications, practicing scientific principles to design, validate, and implement measurement systems to assess raw material/device component/final product performance used in the production of biopharmaceuticals. In this role the associate will gain exposure to a breadth of bioprocess technologies and the diverse biotherapeutics they are used to produce Key Responsibilities: + Support metrology team projects to improve measurement techniques and align in-house test methodology with customer end use. Plan and execute experiments under guidance to solve problems and deliver results on time. + Analyze and summarize results and processes into technical reports and SOPs, present findings to project manager and team members, train others as needed in technology transfer. + Work closely with cross-functional teams such as R&D, product engineering, manufacturing, and quality, to develop and validate QC methods, investigate product quality issues, conduct risk assessment of material changes, etc. to ensure product on time delivery. + Lead calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments and lab equipment, keep accurate and detailed records of all measurements, calibrations, and maintenance activities. + Participate in training programs to stay current with metrology techniques, tools, and industry best practices. Qualifications: + B.S in chemical engineering, material or polymer science, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, physics, or a related field. + Scientific laboratory experience in planning and executing research and/or development projects. + Strong hands-on capability with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Preferred Skills: + Hands-on experience in material characterization or metrology development using common analytical techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, chromatography, thermal, mechanical, rheological, etc.. + Industrial work experience with track record of on time delivery. + Leadership or project management experience. + Knowledge and experience with filtration, chromatography, gene or cell therapy, new modalities such as mAb, mRNA, etc. + Original scientific contributions and innovation evidenced by publications, patents, or commercialized products.
