The Targeted Protein Degradation (TPD) Proteomics Core within the Fischer Lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute serves as a resource for the Cancer Biology Department, aiding investigators in answering key research questions using mass spectrometry-based proteomics. We employ quantitative chemoproteomic and interactomic approaches to identify drug targets and are continuing to expand our repertoire to meet the needs of our core users.

The TPD Core seeks a highly motivated individual to join the team as a Research Scientist, who will employ mass spectrometry-based technologies to assess the cellular proteome in response to external stimuli. This individual will be an important member of our core team and will work with technicians, scientists, postdocs and students on a variety of different research projects focused on targeted protein degradation as a novel therapeutic modality.  https://fischerlab.dana-farber.org/

Responsible for cell culture and performing drug treatmentsPerforms mass spectrometry sample preparation and data analysisAnalyzes experimental data and interprets results to generate reports and presentationsCommunicates with and explains results to collaborators Maintains detailed notebook of all work-related activitiesMaintains highly organized sample and data tracking and reporting workflowsOperation and maintenance of standard lab equipmentOperation and maintenance of HPLC and LCMS instrumentsMaintains and orders laboratory suppliesCommunicates with purchasing and may be responsible for negotiating with vendors Qualifications Ph.D in biochemistry, chemistry, biology or related field highly preferredExperience with mammalian cell culture and proteomics sample preparation is requiredExperience operating Thermo and Bruker mass spectrometers is preferredProficiency in mass spectrometry data analysis and quantitative methodsProficiency in statistical and computational methods and R programming is preferredKnowledge of proteomics data analysis software, including Proteome DiscovererMust have excellent communication skillsMust have close attention to detail and consistent work habitsAbility to work within a team environmentMust have good time management
