This posting is for a Scientist I to work on a per diem basis in the Cantley Laboratory in the Department of Cancer Biology.
ResponsibilitiesThe Cantley laboratory has developed software that utilizes information obtained using an ‘oriented peptide library’ technology developed in our laboratory to determine the most likely protein kinase to phosphorylate any Serine, Threonine or Tyrosine residue that is observed to be phosphorylated in mass spec phosphoproteomic experiments. We have employed this technology to determine what protein kinases are driving the growth of tumor or in organoids or cell lines established from tumors. With this technology it is possible to determine what protein kinase inhibitor is most likely to be effective in killing tumor cells. We seek a Scientist experienced with this technology to apply it to determine what drugs are most likely to be effective for treating individual cancer patients.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree and have at least two years of experience in bioinformatics.
