Job Description
AbbVie's Genomics Research Center (GRC) is part of the Quantitative Medicine and Genomics (QM&G) functional area that promotes data-driven innovation in drug discovery by integrating diverse quantitative data and leveraging advanced computational models. The GRC’s goal is to develop world class genetics and genomics research focused on finding the right therapeutic targets and helping AbbVie scientists better understand not only human disease biology but also the behavior and response to our drugs in clinical trials across all therapeutic areas.
Join our innovative Genomic Technologies (GTECH) lab team, where we are at the forefront of genomic research and discovery. Our team is dedicated to advancing science through cutting-edge technologies and collaborative efforts. We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and organized Lab Manager to join our diverse team of scientists. Applicants should have broad laboratory management experience, including inventory and instrument management, drafting and executing standard operating procedures, and implementing process improvements. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills and operate in a fast-paced setting to support our dynamic environment and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Inventory Management:
+ Drive the implementation and management of inventory systems to ensure efficient and accurate tracking of laboratory supplies and reagents.
+ Maintain optimal stock levels and work with vendors to source necessary materials.
+ Ordering and Procurement:
+ Develop and oversee centralized ordering procedures to streamline procurement activities.
+ Implement best practices and ensure compliance with all internal purchasing policies.
+ Develop and maintain relationships with stockroom and key vendors for up to date purchasing quotes or contracts
+ Preventative Maintenance and Management:
+ Schedule and manage preventative maintenance for all laboratory equipment.
+ Coordinate equipment moves, repairs, and address any equipment-related issues.
+ Coordinate work orders related to facility maintenance, temperature monitoring and laboratory needs.
+ Collaborate with facilities management to ensure timely resolution of issues.
+ EH&S: ensure compliance is maintained in all lab spaces, collaborate with team members and participate in quarterly inspections
+ Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS):
+ Participate in LIMS-related activities to enhance lab management and workflow efficiency.
+ Organization of Lab Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
+ Organize, update, and maintain lab SOPs to ensure clarity and accessibility for lab staff.
+ Conduct periodic reviews and updates in collaboration with lab members.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Laboratory Management, or related field, or equivalent education with 5-7+ years of experience, or Master’s Degree or equivalent education with 2-5+ years of experience.
+ 2+ years of experience in laboratory management or a related role.
+ Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and EHS regulations.
+ Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
+ Proficiency in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.

+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
+ We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
+ This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.

Salary: $80,500 - $153,000
