This position is part of the Research & Development department located in Madison, WI and will be on-site. At Aldevron, we combine best-in-class products and service with the ideal operating environment to lay the groundwork for vital new discoveries worldwide. You will be a part of the Protein R&D team and report to an experienced Scientist responsible for completing laboratory projects related to gene editing and recombinant protein production.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Work with cross-functional teams to develop innovative protein products and processes
+ Plan and execute laboratory experiments along with analysis of relevant biophysical, biochemical, or genetic data
+ Investigate gene editing technologies in mammalian cell lines and systems
+ Create detailed project summary reports and present findings to the project team
+ Develop creative solutions by evaluating and implementing new technologies
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related discipline (BS with 2+ years of experience; MS with 1+ year of experience; PhD with no further experience)
+ Experience with mammalian cell culture of immortalized cell lines and/or primary cells
+ Familiarity with CRISPR-based gene editing technologies
+ Experience with recombinant protein production in microbial and/or eukaryotic systems
+ Working knowledge of techniques including, but not limited to, SDS PAGE, Western Blot, Bradford Assay, ELISA, PCR/qPCR
