How you will make an impact:

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Gibco Bioproduction Analytics Team. This position supports a cross-functional team working toward the design and commercialization of new cell culture media and media supplement products. You will apply your chemistry/biochemistry skills to conduct established assays and play a role in developing novel analytical methods.

What will you do?

Operates autonomously or with limited guidance from supervisors or senior researchers.Participates in analytical method development, optimization and validation as needed to develop new assays.Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains analytical instrumentation (contacting instrument vendors when needed).Follows all company safety, training, and quality regulations and procedures.Maintains accurate lab notebooks and follows Good Laboratory Practices.Regularly communicates plans, actions and results with the manager and other leaders.

How will you get here?

Education (Minimum Qualifications, must have):

Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, or other related field: B.S. degree and a minimum of 2 years industry experience, or M.S. degree. Equivalent combination of education and years of related experience may be substituted.

Experience

Previous experience with chromatography techniques such as HPLC/UHPLC, LC-MS, Orbitrap or Q-TOF technology is required.Experience with HPLC methods for quantitation of charge variant, protein aggregation and N-glycan profiling is a plus.Experience with advanced protein characterization techniques such as peptide mapping or o-glycan analysis is plus.Good understanding and working knowledge of chemistry principles, such as acid/base chemistry, sample solubility, and precipitation, as it relates to the sample preparation is desired.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate scientific results in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.Excellent computer skills with programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to efficiently evaluate and manage multiple project tasks.
