About the Role

As a Scientist II, Chemistry, you will contribute to our ambitious projects, collaborating closely with a team of dedicated experts to successfully implement groundbreaking research and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Engage in groundbreaking research and development in the field of Water Analysis, focusing on developing new tools and methods for pH, Conductivity, TOC, chlorine, ion selective electrodes, dissolved oxygen, and more.Investigate and explore new ideas and concepts by defining experiments, building, debugging, and characterizing prototype hardware/software in order to verify proof of principle.Collaborate with engineers and chemists to craft prototypes and new products.Collaborate closely with project team members and other cross-functional groups in the organization including marketing, applications, and business development.Submit and present project updates and reports in verbal and written formats.Write invention disclosures and possible patent applications.Manage and prioritize daily assignments to ensure timely completion.Attend and participate in scheduled planning meetings and/or status meetings.Manage and maintain required reagents, laboratory environment, and equipment needed to carry out assignments.Adhere to safety and regulatory requirementsTransfer new products from R&D to Manufacturing.Responsible for sustaining products to address customer needsWriting SOP and work instruction according to Quality management standards and requirements.Other opportunities may include possible contributions to scientific literature and presentations at conferences.Conduct exploratory research for new hardware or consumables with improved performance for water analysis.

Requirements

PhD in Electrochemistry or related field, or Msc/BS with 3 years relevant experience.R&D experience in water analysis and associated instrumentation for the lab or processFamiliarity with electrochemistry & sensor technologyProficient in operating analytical equipment and applying analytical chemistry principlesStrong proficiency in technology regarding water analysisExperience with new product development is a plusStrong understanding of instrumentation principles and troubleshooting ability.Experience in analytical chemistry, electrochemical sensors/electrodes, wet-chemistry based chemical analyzer, reagent-based colorimetric instrument, chemical analysisStrong understanding of Electrochemistry, wet chemistry testing and methods.Strong understanding of Analytical chemistry principles.Record of accomplishment should be demonstrated by publications or patentsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDemonstrated organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks with different prioritiesAbility to make independent decisions and possess strong initiativeAbility to dissect problems with strong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to accurately plan, define, and manage projects tasksMust possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Capable of working with multi-disciplinary teams.Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.
